Soft gaskets, or non-metallic gaskets, are usually made of rubber, teflon, PTFE, Compressed Non-Asbestos Fiber (CNAF), graphite. They easily compress with low tension melting, and are used with low-pressure class flanges such as 150 and 300 Class and in low temperature ranges. Though, graphite gasket can be used upto 500 degree centigrade. Rubber and elastomer gaskets are used in utility lines. These gaskets are cheaper and widely available.
Chiefly made of soft iron, low carbon steel, stainless steel, monel and inconel, metal gaskets are also know as ring gaskets or RTJ gaskets.
Used in high-pressure class flanges, they can also be used for high temperature since they are robust.
Semi-Metallic or Composite Gasket
These gaskets are a combination of metal and non-metal. We supply different combination of materials based on requirement. Some common gaskets in this category are spiral wound, metal jacketed and kamprofile gasket. They find wide usage in a range of temperature and pressure services.
